Quotes...

The best decisions are always made at the last minute. Just know when the last minute is.

Be faithful to your own taste because nothing you really like is ever out of style.

All rooms ought to look as if they were lived in, and to have so to say, a friendly welcome ready for the incomer.
William Morris

... to ensure a successful mix, I treat cushions, trimming, lampshades and other accessories as the shoes and handbags of the home. The right shoes can really make an outfit - and equally, if you have the wrong shoes, you can feel old-fashioned in the smartest of suits.
Nina Campbell

Each item in a collection has its own story, its own memory - the search, the day you bought it, who you were with, the vacation, etc.; a collection provides a special satisfaction and sense of achievement.

Little Girl's Dream House!

This playhouse is part of a much larger project I have been working on all spring. It sits at the back of an acre size property in West Vancouver and is just waiting for the little girls who inhabit this home to arrive for the summer and bring it to life!!

The playhouse is bigger than it may appear! The main floor has a kitchen, eating area and lounging area. The front veranda has 4 adironack chairs complete with matching pool towels in case you want to take a dip in the infinity edge pool.

A little peek at the kitchen and dining area!

Follow the butterflies up the ladder to the library loft filled with comfy bean bags and lots of books!

Did I mention the windows are glass, the house is insulated and it has electricity!!

I might be a bit jealous...

Melinda Ritz Interiors

The November Architectural Digest features the eclectic Beverly Hills home of Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi. Designed by architects Buff & Hensman and further expanded on by decorator Melinda Ritz. I love the personality that comes out in these photos, and the lived in, collected look of this home.

Melinda Ritz design philosphy is to create homes that truly express the lives of the people who inhabit them. The fact that her background is in set design makes perfect sense. She won 3 Emmy awards and 7 nominations for Will &Grace - one of my all time favourite shows!

Here are some pictures from her website of her beautiful work!
